Abstract

Modern women's health appears increasingly compromised by erratic lifestyle patterns, mounting environmental stress, and disruption of innate biological rhythms, prompting the exploration of alternative health paradigms. Classical Indian knowledge traditions — primarily Ayurveda and Yoga — offer a counterpoint by advocating the alignment of human life with natural temporal cycles. They do this through two foundational regimens: Dinacharya (a structured daily routine) and Ritucharya (season-specific lifestyle adaptation). This study undertakes a theoretical and textual investigation of these concepts. It evaluated their applicability to the management of women's health. Drawing upon canonical Ayurvedic literature, notably the Charaka Samhita and Ashtanga Hridaya, and the yogic philosophy articulated in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, this study constructs an integrative framework. The framework connects biological rhythms, lifestyle behaviors, and physiological equilibrium. The analysis suggests that synchronizing human activity with natural rhythms is foundational for sustaining digestive integrity, mental stability, and reproductive health in women. This study proposes that Dinacharya and Ritucharya together constitute a robust preventive model within the Yogic-Ayurvedic tradition. This is both theoretically coherent and practically relevant.
