GESTURE AND VOICE-CONTROL LED SMART HOME SYSTEM

The integration of automation technologies into residential environments has led to the evolution of smart homes, which aim to enhance comfort, accessibility, energy efficiency and security. This project presents the design and implementation of a Gesture and Voice Controlled Smart Home System, which enables users to operate home appliances using intuitive hand gestures and voice commands. The system is designed to cater especially to elderly individuals and people with physical disabilities, while also offering convenience for general users. The proposed system utilizes a combination of voice recognition (via platforms such as Google Assistant or offline speech recognition modules) and gesture detection (using sensors like the accelerometer (e.g., MPU6050) or vision-based systems like a web cam with computer vision algorithms). These input Sare processed and transmitted to a micro controller unit (such as Arduino or Raspberry Pi) that serves as the central control hub. The microcontroller interprets the inputs and activates corresponding home devices like lights, fans and other appliances through relays or wireless modules (e.g., Wi-Fi or Bluetooth).
